Have you ever had the desire to hook your garden hose (with cold water) up to your kitchen sink and use your limestone counters as a waterslide (after you greased them up with a hummus and olive oil mixture)? Well, we did it for REAL today!!!
Slide Rock Park, Sedona, AZ
So we decided to make a little pit stop here today on the way to the Grand Canyon. This is the great fun of vacation. Discovering things along the way.
Slide Rock Park is a natural waterslide formed from a river coming down the valley of the mountains over limestone. It is SO cool. And SO cold!!! You get into the waterslide by sittting down on a little indentation just big enough for your butt with water rushing down over it. The water whisks you away down the bumpy, curvy trough, through deep sections that cause you to go under and shallow sections that scrape up your bathing suit (or in my case my cheeks!).
It also was so beautiful. The red rocks and the blue and green water.
Some of the crazies were jumping off rocks into the water. You could not see the bottom – it was literally water in a crevice. There is no way I would ever. You can see a photo of a guy I caught in mid air starting his summersault.
It was definitely an adrenaline rush and cold and fun. Perfect pit stop. Check out the photos when I get them uploaded.
Liam thinks this looks DANGEROUS!
